LOST IN THE WILDS - An Essay By Peter O'Rourke - Book Review

A LOST IN THE FORESTS ESSAYS is a compilation of short stories about a young man, Michael Knight, who leaves his small town in upstate New York and travels through time and space to find himself in the middle of an unexplained and tragic event. While on his adventure, he comes across an abandoned cabin in the woods and along the way has the opportunity to meet some old friends. Eventually he makes his way back home. But this does not bode well for the traveler as he soon realizes that he has become the target of killer machines and ghosts that seem bent on his destruction.

This is the premise of the lost in the woods essay. In a world of technologically advanced beings, we are only able to see a fraction of what is out there in the world. The world seems a very dangerous place because technology has created so many tools which seem to make our lives easier. This means that we have lost sight of the things that really matter in life and have started to chase technological advancements instead. This is what is known as the void of direction.

In this short story, Knight is just such a person who has lost his way in the woods. This is why he has taken up this unusual undertaking. And the adventure he experiences is one that he will have to come back from. The story is told with the help of Knight's son, Michael. It is told through the words of Michael, a nine year old who reads and scribbles these thoughts while his father is away at work.

The lost in the woods essay was published in 1988 by legendary author John Green. It is a collection of nine short stories and it takes its title from a famous poem by John Kennedy. These poems all take their names from real locations that are in the United States. They also all deal with lost or missing people and their adventures in the wilderness. They also all share something about the American spirit.

This short story is about a man called Knight, who according to the story, lost his way in the woods after walking for only twenty two miles. It seems that he was trying to get to a place called Crow's Nest which is in the woods some four hundred feet from his house. When Visit arrived there he found that the place had been destroyed and so lost his way again.

Michael Knight managed to get his father to go ahead of him and set off on this long journey with the idea that they would find a way to get to the other side of the woods by walking. Michael did this for several days but they never did find the way to another part of the woods. Then they were desperate and they thought of making a camp out of some stones that they could find there. Once they had set up a fire they made a kind of fire by putting some wood in a hole and they piled some logs on top of this.

So here is the short story and then I will tell you how the whole thing started. One night Michael and Mary went to the woods with the intention of trying to find her father, whom they think had died while lost in the woods. Michael knew that Mary had been hurt by the dark when she was walking ahead so he picked up his stick and went in search of the girl. He searched for three days but didn't find her. Then he realized that perhaps his father had seen him and taken him to his cave in the woods so he left with his daughter.

The author obviously has a love for this story and for the American people as well. He included many poems and stories about his search for his lost daughter. I liked this story very much and think that anyone who likes stories about lost things and the American countryside should read this story. It's a wonderful story of hope and adventure.
